What is Conveyor Belt?

Conveyor is derived from convey. Belt is product name used to transmit power from one machinery shaft to second or more than two unpowered idlers shafts. Industrial Conveyor Belt Types primarily functions delivering products (unpacked & packed).

The different types of belts, mainly includes Conveyor Belt, Transmission Belt, Timing Belt & V Belt. They are sub divided in different categories subjected to their usages and material used to manufacture.

These belts are made of different materials which includes rubber, kevler thread, cotton or nylon thread, nylon sheet, polyurethane material, Teflon, Neoprene, Nitrile, Polyester, Leather and others. Vacuum Belt Conveyors

Bucket Conveyor Belt

Bucket Conveyor are of two types

1) plastic molded buckets fixed with nuts and bolts

2) Conveyor material flaps and sidewall fabrication

Modular Conveyor Belt

Modular conveyor belting are those used to drive at turning machine. Regular conveyors are straight but modular belts are designed to turn. Companies cut these belts width in degrees within maximum possibilities. To turn at more degree, refer to plastic modular belt.

How to clean Belts?

Companies have designed scrappers to clean belt effectively & efficiently. Comparing to traditional hard scrappers. These do not damage belt.

  1. PU Belts are non sticky on PVC Conveyor are sticky. Using PVC on food application results in product damages.
  2. PU Conveyor are priced above average PVC Belt Conveyors.
  3. PVC absorbs oil and results in slippages. Polyurethane Belts are oil resistant and do work in oiling industries better.
  4. According to international FDA food law, manufacturers are bound to use PU Food Belts for food applications. They can not use Non Food Belts.
  5. Companies need FDA Licence to produce, launch, market & sales. No licence required for PVC Conveyor Belting.
  6. PVC belts are manufactured worldwide without any standards. Their applications are not linked to human health. For PU Belts companies need to follow international standardization laws.
  7. PVC belts can be jointed in overlaps, lacing & finger. PU are limited to Lacing & Fingers Joint.
  8. Even in small countries you may find manufactures but PU Belt manufactures are few in few countries.
  9. PVC belts are limited to be used in non food applications. PU are universal belting to be used on both food and non food industries.
  10. Somehow, PVC can be used on industries require PU but it do not give standard life span. From experience, in wood industries PVC gave life of 3-4 months (transporting heated material) and PU Belts giving life more than 10 months.
